Ways to prevent Periodontal Disease from affecting you?
The best way to prevent from developing Periodontal Disease is to have stringent home care. You will want to floss at least once a day, get a dental cleaning every six months, brush your teeth twice a day, use a fluoride based toothbrush and use a therapeutic mouth rinse.
Can this affect children?
No, this targets permanent teeth. If you suffer from gingivitis and don't have good home care eventually this will lead to the start of Periodontal Disease. You always want to floss and brush especially along the gumline to get rid of the bacteria that accumulates along the gum line to reduce infection and bacterial count.
Signs and Symptoms of periodontitis

Ways to Prevent Periodontal Disease from progressing.
When you have Periodontal disease, you will want to have a deep cleaning done from the hygienist.
